The Studio
StudioTAF is a boutique architecture and design practice grounded in the philosophy of tactile materiality and place. Based in Athens and operating extensively across the Greek landscape, from dynamic urban environments to sensitive coastal terrains, the studio is dedicated to crafting spaces that respond deeply to their geographical and cultural surroundings. We listen to the landscape. Our design methodology acts as a continuous dialogue between the raw essence of local environments and precise construction logic, aiming to deliver architecture that feels intimately familiar, highly atmospheric, and boldly contemporary.
Founded in 2019 by Antonis Tzortzis, StudioTAF intentionally engages with a curated portfolio of private residences, villas, and hospitality concepts, guiding clients and developers through a highly personalized process from early conceptualization to final site supervision.
Our Philosophy
Anchored in Context: We believe a building should feel entirely native to its site. By extracting subtle cues from local topographies, the trajectory of natural light, and vernacular traditions, we reinterpret the essence of a place into spaces that anchor human experience to the earth.
Truth in Materials: The soul of a space lives in its textures. We prioritize honest, localized materials—such as raw natural plasters, native stone, and crafted wood—that carry a tactile weight. We design for the patina of time, allowing materials to breathe, settle, and age gracefully alongside their inhabitants.
Atmosphere through Precision: Advanced visualization is our digital workshop. Beyond aesthetic communication, it serves as a rigorous testing ground where spatial quality, construction logic, and material behavior under natural light are deeply explored and refined long before the physical build.
Bespoke Continuity: Operating on a boutique scale allows for uncompromising dedication to a select number of projects. Our holistic approach ensures a seamless narrative from the overarching architectural shell down to custom interior joinery, bespoke furniture curation, and meticulous detailing.
People
Antonis Tzortzis is an Athens-based architect and the founder of StudioTAF. He completed his Master of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he cultivated a strong interest in the intersection of architectural theory, construction logic, and tactile materiality.
Through his continuous hands-on engagement with bespoke fabrication, woodwork, and the application of traditional Mediterranean materials, Antonis has developed a deep understanding of the physical reality of building. This grounded, craftsmanship-driven approach is paired directly with his high-level expertise in advanced architectural visualization and computational design. In his practice, visualization operates as a dynamic spatial laboratory: a dedicated environment to rigorously test light, texture, and structural details long before execution.
Early-career milestones include extensive collaborations with architects, developers, and studios across Europe, acting as a strategic design partner who actively bridges the gap between early conceptualization and pre-construction. Today, leading StudioTAF, he channels his dual passion for digital precision and raw materiality into a boutique practice, translating atmospheric visions into built realities across Athens and the Cyclades.
The Studio Model & Network
StudioTAF operates as a dynamic, collaborative ecosystem tailored to its boutique scale. Anchored in a shared creative workspace in Athens, the practice thrives alongside independent architects, fostering a continuous exchange of ideas and cross-practice collaborations.
To maintain uncompromising quality, the studio expands its capabilities through a curated network of long-standing remote specialists in architectural detailing and 3D visualization. This agile structure ensures StudioTAF remains intimately involved in every design phase, scaling expertise precisely to the demands of each project.
